Every year, the Met Gala red carpet produces some of the most memorable celebrity fashion moments of all time. ’s affair in New York City—themed “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”—was certainly no different, with a bevy of A-listers hitting the red carpet in custom creations. The night’s very best dressed attendees were those who paid homage to this year’s theme (and “the garden of time” dress code)—doing so in both thoughtful and unexpected ways.

Of course, all of the official 2024 Met Gala co-hosts made the best dressed list. Zendaya turned heads in not one but two striking looks—including her custom Margiela look, and a vintage Givenchy dress from the house’s spring 1996 collection. Jennifer Lopez opted for a sparkling Schiaparelli number; while Bad Bunny wore a sculptural Margiela suit and Chris Hemsworth a sleek Tom Ford one.

Which were your favorite celebrity looks from the Met Gala this year? Be sure to vote below, and check back to see which ensemble is the ultimate best dressed of the evening.

@anokyai WATER

The futuristic tulle catsuit embellished with 6 shades of blues
On silk tulle embellished with 98,000 crystals to create the illusion of jewels directly on the skin, it took a team of eight over 130 hours to make.
I’m beyond honored that Anok is first to wear our created diamond necklace from the ‘Galaxy’ collection on the carpet.
It felt like a perfect match and a dream.

The one-of-a-kind necklace from Swarovski’s Galaxy fine jewelry collection which was crafted with 1,050 lab-grown Swarovski Created Diamonds in seven different cuts with a total weight of 156.62 carats.

When Anok Yai and I were brainstorming her look for the MET Gala, we kept coming back to the idea of water—how it’s fluid and fits seamlessly into any shape.

That’s exactly what her catsuit did. It was like a second skin, perfectly enhancing every curve in a way that felt almost painted on, reminiscent of those incredible Yves Klein blue body artworks, mixed with the Austrian Master Gustav Klimt’s portrait of Emilie Floge. We used crystals of various shades and sizes of Blues to beautifully accentuate her features.

Anok always brings something futuristic and ultra-modern to the table. She’s bold and unapologetically unique, which is why the catsuit was the perfect choice for her— it stood out at such a forward thinking high-profile event like the MET Gala. A statement of art and innovation.

To me, Anok is in a league of her own — a true representation of water power and beauty.

METAMORPHOSIS COUTURE
@jlo, one of the 2024 Met Gala co-chairs, in a custom @schiaparelli Haute Couture creation by @danielroseberry that pays homage to Elsa Schiaparelli’s obsession with the butterfly, the surrealist embodiment of metamorphosis.

Four enlarged butterfly wings inspired the shape of the strapless sheath gown in illusion tulle with draping. The dress is fully hand-embroidered over 800 hours, with warm silver pearls, rhinestones, and 2 500 000 silver foul bugles and beads.

CARDI B

#metgala2024 Inspiration of this Windowsen Couture designed for @iamcardib — The theme Met Gala this year is “The Garden of Time.” I associated fertile, Vast Black Soil with the theme —All kinds of beautiful flowers grow on the Vast Black Soil, rich earth used for planting Crops and flowers. A single black rose grows in this Vast Black Soil.
The whole dress uses nearly 3000 meters of organza. It symbolizes the vastness of the land.

MINDY KALING

The name of my gown was “The Melting Flower of Time”. I was so honored to wear the genius @gauravguptaofficial to the Met Gala this year. The cape was inspired by a blooming flower, and his signature sculptural techniques evoked the passage of time. Thank you Gaurav, @voguemagazine and the team of artists who designed my look! 🤍🤍🤍
